In this course you will find a basic overview of what Hope Outreach is. These lessons will talk about the heart behind Hope Outreach, where the idea came from and other basic ideas that found the Hope Outreach concept. As you work through this course allow the Holy Spirit to put vision in your heart and speak to you. This course offers ideas, suggestions and the “heart” behind the vision of Hope Outreach. Hope Outreach will look different in each city but the DNA, the Vision and the heartbeat in each city should be the same. What separates Hope Outreach from a traditional Teen Challenge center is that its entire focus is outward. Hope Outreach is not a plan to build buildings and invite everyone to come to us. One of the 3 primary ways that we plan to offer HOPE in communities will be through strategic drug prevention. By reaching the at-risk population of communities we believe that we will help to provide hope for the next generation and keep them from getting involved in destructive behaviors that will cause life-controlling problems and addictions. We will not only reach the youth of that community but will also become the go-to resource for the parents who want to ensure their kids will stay drug-free. One of the 3 primary ways that we plan to offer HOPE in communities is outreach and evangelism. We want to not only be an available resource in the community but also a driving force that brings revival to our cities by the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Compelled by the love of Jesus, our goal is to find out where the hurting and the broken are and go to them. While a small team of individuals is very limited in impacting a city, an army of unified saints can bring such a radical change in a city that everyone will take notice. We want to see the Body of Christ unified and mobilized to see each city revitalized, where the HOPE of Jesus is in reach of every person. Living Free is our primary non-residential recovery tool that we are using at each Hope Outreach. This tool is a small group method that can be utilized to help provide hope and recovery to those in the target area of each Hope Outreach. It is focused on helping persons who are struggling with life-controlling issues and helps to empower lay ministers in the church to get involved and help make a difference in their community. Community relations in each community that we serve will be a key to having a sustained and lasting impact. The relationships that are built will help forge strong bonds to ensure that Hope Outreach is able to continue serving a community for generations.
